Background information on the enzyme ingredients in our blend
Enzymes for protein digestion (Proteolytic enzymes)
Specifics
Protease derived from Aspergillus oryzae are a mixture of acid, neutral and alkaline enzymes that are effective pH range from 2.75 to 7.0. For this reason, this mixture of proteases works alongside the body’s own protein digesting enzymes to provide support for protein digestion through all portions of the digestive tract.
Protease derived from Aspergillus niger typically work within acidic conditions (pH range of 2.75 to 4.7) so they are, in effect, resistant to the natural stomach environment making them perfect to enhance the gastric digestion or dietary proteins.
Bromelain is an enzyme derived from the stem of fresh pineapples. It is best known for its use as a digestive aid, especially to assist in the digestion of high-protein meals.
Overview
The proteolytic enzymes used in this formula help to digest protein producing amino acids that are important building blocks in the human body. Amino acids are used to build muscles, metabolic enzymes, neurotransmitters, and many other essential biochemicals. Proteolytic enzyme supplementation can be essential in digesting the extra protein consumed during the course of today’s modern / popular diets. Proteolytic enzyme supplementation may also be an important factor in maintaining lean muscle tissue.
Enzymes for carbohydrate digestion (Carbohydrolytic enzymes)
Specifics
Amylase will breakdown dietary starch to release simple sugars for digestion. This enzyme works alongside the body’s own amylase to digest starchy foods and limit the effects if incomplete starch digestion on the normal digestive process.
Lactase works over a wide range of temperatures and pH. This enzyme works alongside the body’s own lactase to digest the sugars found in milk and dairy products and limit the effects if incomplete milk sugar digestion on the normal digestive process.
Glucoamylase works to digest a variety of carbohydrate compounds within the diet helping to releasing glucose from more complex carbohydrates such as maltose and dexrins.
Alpha-galactosidase specifically work to break down the more indigestible parts of many vegetables that may cause bloating and gas. The indigestible parts commonly contain compounds known as alpha-galactosyl groups. Alpha galactosidase enzyme split these compounds up reducing their ability to cause digestive distress. These compounds commonly occur in vegetables, especially in members of the legume and cruciferous families.
Invertase are enzymes with the ability catalyze the inversion of sucrose solution commonly found in refined sugar foods. This action helps in the digestion of refined sugars that are common in modern diets.
Overview
The combination of carbohydrate digesting enzymes in our blend is designed to assist with the digestion of sugars, starches and other polysaccharides. The blend of specific enzymes supports more complete digestion of dietary carbohydrates, which enables you to obtain an optimum amount of the nutrients and benefit from energy available.
Enzymes for fat digestion (Lipolytic enzymes)
Lipase is an enzyme that breaks down simple fats and triglyceride. It has effects on both the fats and oils of vegetable and animal origins. Lipase works alongside the body’s own lipase enzymes to help digest fatty foods and limit the effects if incomplete fat digestion on the normal digestive process.
Overview
Fat digestion plays a critical role in feeling full after a meal and in the process of gastric emptying. Research indicates that the blend of lipases used in this formula may increase the availability of essential fatty acids. Healthy fat digestion also plays an important role in the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients including vitamins A, D, E and K.
