The seed of the celery plant has a long history of traditional use among many herbal traditions of the world, including the Unani tradition (ancient Persia and Arabia), Ayurveda (India), and traditional Chinese medicine.

Modern research has uncovered that much of celery seed’s bioactivity is due to the presence of phytonutrients called phthalides. Of these, 3-n-butylphthalide (3nB) is one of the most well researched. Our Celery Seed Extract is concentrated and standardized to contain 85% 3-n-butylphthalide as total phthalides.
One capsule provides the same level of 3nB as 4-6 sticks of celery.

Recommended adult use: 2 capsules daily or as directed by a health care practitioner.

Ingredients

Each vegetarian capsule contains:
Celery extract 15:1 (Apium graveolens) (seed) 75 mg
(Standardized to 80% 3-n-butylphthalide calculated as total phthalides)

Other ingredients: Vegetarian capsule (carbohydrate gum [cellulose], purified water), rice powder, vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant).

Contains CELERY no artificial colours, preservatives, or sweeteners; no dairy, sugar, wheat, gluten, yeast, soy, corn, egg, fish, shellfish, animal products, salt, tree nuts, or GMOs. Suitable for vegetarians/vegans.

Cautions: Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or are allergic to plants of the Umbelliferae family (carrot, celery). Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have diabetes or a renal disorder. Sensitive individuals may experience allergic reactions. Celery seed may increase UV light sensitivity; limit excess exposure to ultraviolet rays (e.g., sunbathing or tanning salons) for prolonged periods while using this product.
