Detail
The berberine in this product is derived from raw Berberis aristata root sourced from different parts of the Himalayan mountains to ensure that any one area is not over harvested. These areas are then closed off to allow them to rest and regrow naturally. The berberine is then water extracted, no solvents are used in the production.
Some aditional background
The growing popularity of berberine supplements has placed unexpected environmental and ecological pressure on the many plant sources that are cultivated and used as a source of the pure berberine HCl such as goldenseal (Hydrastis Canadensis), Oregon grape (Berberis aquifolium) and tree turmeric (Berberis aristata).
Hadley Wood Healthcare has managed to source an ecologically friendly and ultra pure berberine HCl that has been farmed and harvested using sustainable wildcrafting methods. Using the root of tree turmeric (Berberis aristata) as a raw material, the Himalayan hill farmers carefully harvest the tree turmeric to ensure that any one area is not over harvested. After this, the area is closed off and allowed to re-grow slowly and naturally. This process has the added benefit of giving the fresh growth time to develop and get exposed to the characteristic Himalayan environmental stressors that trigger the plant to product the key organic compounds, which are the key to producing a highly pure end product.
During the processing of the harvested roots a water only extraction process is employed so no solvents are used anywhere in the steps from raw root to the final pure berberine HCl. Encapsulation occurs in the UK using cellulose capsules and zero ‘other ingredients’ expect a little plant cellulose to act as a flow agent during this process.
